Corbetts’ Free Wax Clinic

Corbetts will be running their tune clinics at 120 Speers with Peter Hibbard leading the instruction for the Fall 2016 and Winter 2017 season!


-Thursday November 10th at 7:00 pm
-Thursday December 8th at 7:00 pm
-January and February dates & times TBA.

Space is limited, please note online inquiries & emails do not confirm registration, registration can only be confirmed via phone or in person at 120 Speers Road location.

Clinics Start at 7pm and they are Free of Charge.

Material Covered: All aspects of Ski base repair, edge sharpening, base prep for waxing and waxing as well as Summer Storage and proper storage of your Skies and Snowboards. The seminars are open to all Skiers and Snowboarders from beginners to experts. The clinics are ideal for those who have never tuned before as well as veterans as new material is covered all the time. Handouts are provided and the sessions are very hands on. There will be general sessions as well as advanced sessions for those in racing or want to learn more. Ski and Snowboard Tuning is fun and easy to learn, we will cover all the tools needed to set up your own shop as well as the benches and space needed. Corbetts has the largest selection of Tuning Accessories and we will show you their great packaged kits

Bio: Peter Hibbard is a thirty-five year veteran of the Ski Industry and the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation. Peter coaches at the Georgian Peaks Club in Clarksburg Ontario and at Blue Mountain Resorts. Peter taught at Humber College and At Georgian College in the Ski Area Opperations Program. Peter still goes in as a guest lecturer to teach Hand Tuning and Back Shop practises. Peter gives Tuning Seminars all across  Ontario to Ski Teams, Clubs and High Schools. Peter also does Seminars for the Canadian Ski Instruters Alliance at their annual Fall Development Day.

Hi everyone, here is a great opportunity to cool off and try something new and exciting this summer from Freestyle Ontario…

I would like to invite you and your athletes to come train at the New Water Ramp at Horseshoe Valley this summer. Well traditionally the Water Ramp are for Freestyle athletes the Water Ramp can also be beneficial to racers. Its a great opportunity to develop confidence getting some air on your skis. July 30th from 9-4 will be an opportunity for racers to use the ramp. They will be fully coached and also be able to use the trampoline. A great opportunity for the racers to get together in the off season. Special guest and MHRC alumni and now Canadian Ski Cross Team member Kevin Macdonald will be in attendance!!!

MHRC invites all members and invited guests to attend a special afternoon dual slalom race and evening event in celebration and memory of Erika Lamb.

Schedule of Events –

3:30pm – Bib Pick-up at the MHRC clubhouse

4:00pm –  Inspection – Race Hill Challenger

4:30pm – Dual Slalom Race Start – U18/21 category first

7:00pm – Dinner at the clubhouse

7:30pm – Special Guest Speaker

8:30pm – Awards/ Bib Draw and Live Entertainment

9:30pm – Last chairlift ride up for Memorial Torch Light Parade

9:45pm – Memorial Torch Light Parade

Update Moonstone Base for Travel Team Sunday Jan 10 @ MSLM

Hi, this notification is for MHRC travel team athletes, coaches and snowboard program, please meet at MOONSTONE Base tomorrow Sunday Jan 9 at 8:30am. Parents please bring cash for lift tickets and pick up lift tickets from the Milton Heights registration table in the lower level of the Moonstone chalet.


Sunday Jr Development will continue to register at MHRC Clubhouse at 9am with Juliette Lamb for the beginning of their program which starts at 9:30pm.

MHRC Jan 4 Update – Correction and Clarification

Friday training clarification – Please note that the Friday training Jan 8 for travel team athletes is optional and that registration is now available at and will be on slalom skis and there will be no gate training.


Correction to Jr Development Program Start Times – please note the Jr Development Programs are 9:30-12:30 (morning program) and 1:00-3:00 (afternoon program) not 9-12 and 1-3 as previously communicated

IT’S GO TIME! Glen Eden will officially open Friday Jan 8 at 8:30am with limited terrain and all lifts open (weather dependent).


MHRC programming will begin with a Friday training option for all travel team athletes 9-2:30pm at Glen Eden. Registration is required at and there is no charge for this training.


Jan 9/10 Weekend training schedule – to make up for lost time MHRC is offering training for U10/12 on Sunday in addition to their regular Saturday training and offering training on Saturday for U14/16/18/21 in addition to their regular Sunday training.

We want to thank all the MHRC families and coaches for their patience with this slow start. We are hopeful that there will be race schedules communicated this weekend and we are hopeful that regular evening training and the start of the Tuesday adult program will commence starting the week of January 11. Well despite their best efforts Glen Eden is still short of the white stuff. As a result there will be no MHRC programming this weekend. We will do everything we can to offer additional training opportunities once the season gets underway. We will be in touch again soon.

MHRC Speed Suits – here is the design of the NEW MHRC Speed Suits – the fit kit will be at dryland for the last time on Sunday, if you are unable to make the fitting please contact to make other arrangements. Final order for speed suits will be placed next Tuesday. Prices for suits are – Padded GS JR $375 Adult $393 and Non Padded JR $210 Adult $263
