Hello MHRC families!
This is the last weekly racing update of the season for our athletes. A special thank you to all of the Team Managers that sent in the updates, race results and photos of their teams.
Hope you enjoy the last racing update and all the great photos from this past weekend!
JDL
The JDL U12 athletes had a blast doing the race course on Saturday. Lots of great races, smiles, high fives. Overall, an awesome experience for everyone, giving the kids a taste of competition adrenaline.
It was great day racing for the U14 JDL group. Everyone performed really well, and times and skills were very respectable. Everyone in the group had a fun enjoyable experience!
U8/U10
The U8/U10 athletes travelled up to Barrie on Saturday for a race at Snow Valley. All of their hard work training paid off with some great results.
U8 boys: Harrison Cole (silver), Atticus Ceislak (bronze).
U10 girls: Ashley Caston (gold), Jordan Cole (silver) and Olivia Hammond (bronze).
The coaches have seen incredible improvement over the season and are so proud of each and every racer. Congratulations everyone on a job well done!
U12
U12 had a strong finish to the racing season with a great performance in its last race of the season at Caledon on Saturday. Many personal bests were accomplished. A special congratulations to Kaiya P. who made the podium coming in at 2nd place and to Tyler who was just shy of the podium with a 4th place finish. Nice job to you both! Top 20 congrats go out to Aliyah D.(15th), Faith Z. (18th), Alexander R.(16th), and Adam H.(20th). Fantastic racing this season U12 – you should all be very proud.
U14
What a fantastic season itโs been for all! I think I can speak for everyone when I say that our athletes had an awesome season, all improving their skills and building their resilience. Last Sunday, William Watkins qualified at the Menโs SOD Cup, held at Georgian Peaks. Mara Bucur and Avery Oh represented MHRC proudly, qualifying for the Womenโs SOD Cup, held at Alpine Ski Club where they skied amongst the best of the best in all four brackets. Avery Oh finished strong, albeit placing 41st. The weekend has a lot in store for us with the first Triathlon Challenge and the annual Erika Lamb event. Enjoy!
