Hello MHRC families,

It was another great week of skiing and racing here at MHRC.

We also have some great end of season events coming up to be aware of.

On Sunday, February 26th, is our MHRC Funday Membership Drive for new members interested in joining the club.

On Sunday, March 5th we have the Erica Lamb Snowflake Series.ย  This is a fun filled day for the whole family, in memory of our beloved MHRC member, Erika Lamb.ย  Click here for more information and to register for this amazing day.

Here are the racing results, updates and photos from the past week.

JDL

12-14

The day started out icy with some beautiful views of the trees and great snow conditions. Coaching staff had a training course set up for the JDL 12-14 to practice edging and turns. Overall, a good day of training with their race coming up this weekend.

U10

The U10 athletes travelled to Mansfield for their first official race of the season. Everyone had a great time and they got some great racing experience under their belts to prepare for this weekends race at Snow Valley.ย  This was the first real race for most of the athletes.ย  They also had a good weekend training at Glen Eden.

U12

It was a full training weekend for the U12 team.ย  Racers spent two full training days at Glen Eden and worked on their skill development.ย  Our next race is this Saturday at Caledon and the racers are looking forward to putting their practice into action.ย  Good luck team!

U14

Home Training at Glen Eden
Athletes continued to train this past week. Training on stubbies was quite fun. Continued training will happen on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. Have a good week and see you on the slopes!

U16/U19

Last race of the year for the U16-19 group as the team travelled to Mansfield for a GS race.

Top Athletes:

  • U16 Girls – Maya Allen (27), Sophia Jafree (30)
  • U16 Boys – Jack Matthews (15), Carter Belford (26)
  • U19 Girls – Hailey Israel (11), Maya Silveria (20)
  • U19 Boys- Gunnar Popek (9), George Bartlett (12)

And this race certainly brought together the parent group!

And shout out to Nicole Bucur, our U19 veteran, that showed up to the race with her broken leg in a full cast and crutches, ready to cheer on the team!
