The countdown is on!

We are about to kick into high gear for regular operations this season.  Please take a minute to check out these updates.

We had a blast at Mont Tremblant

It was hugs and thumbs up all around as we had a fantastic and fun start to our season at the annual Tremblant training camp last week for our U14+ athletes. It was great to see other families choosing the new “social” option to join us for some fun on snow (and après!).

Christmas Camp (Competitive teams Only)

December 27-31!  Three days at Mount St Louis Moonstone (MSLM) and two at Glen Eden. Registration for Christmas Camp is now OPEN.

The two days at Glen Eden (Dec 28th & 30th) are weather/condition dependant and will be a “night before” decision – watch TeamSnap for info (more below on TeamSnap).

For the away days, please arrive at MSLM at 8am to collect tickets, etc. (exact meeting location will be communicated closer to camp). Training is from 9am-3pm (tickets are valid til 9pm for our hardcore skiers).

There are TWO STEPS to the registration for MSLM days. You must register and pay for your tickets for each day you are attending through TeamSnap AND ALSO register your attendance directly with Mount St Louis Moonstone.

Parent Information Session

New to the club and have questions? Welcome! We have answers.  There will be an optional in-person Q&A session on January 7 at 9:30AM in-person at the clubhouse.  Returning parents who want a refresher are always welcome to join us.

TeamSnap – for schedule and team-specific updates

This will be your mobile source for all your team’s key in-season information.  Team rosters, contact information, schedules and more are available in TeamSnap.  You can sign in online or download their Apple or Android apps.  New families, TeamSnap is what we use to register players, so you should already have an account set up.

MHRC Canteen

We are stocked and ready to go!  Hot and cold food is available for our families on weekends, with snacks and drinks available weeknights.  All of this is dependent on volunteers signing up to run things, so please be sure to get in there to have some fun with the kids and fill your volunteer hours (more about that below).

Parents and guests, please free up table space for our athletes during break and mealtimes.

REMINDER, THE CANTEEN IS NOW CASHLESS – BINDER PAGES CAN BE “LOADED” USING CREDIT/DEBIT

Volunteering

We need you!  Why is MHRC southern Ontario’s most economical alpine racing program? Because we are volunteer operated!  Without all of you jumping in to meet new friends and help the kids have great experiences, our program would not be possible.  Please review the Volunteer Handbook.

There will be a Sign-Up link sent out separately to volunteer in the clubhouse during the Christmas Camp (conditions depending). And there will be separate links for the January Sign Ups for the canteen and clubhouse. Any “Fun Races” at Glen Eden that require volunteers will have their own links sent out in early January.  Please contact volunteer@miltonheights.com with any questions.

Team Jackets

As has become regrettably common, this year’s order of jackets is delayed at the embroiderer.  We are hoping to receive them this week and will contact purchasers as soon as we have them.  Pants have arrived, you can contact derekj@miltonheights.com to arrange pickup.

MHRC Swag!

Toques are $30 each (taxes included).

Stay tuned for details on MHRC hoodies!

We need your season pass number!  Glen Eden reservations

Reminder, Glen Eden is once again using an online registration system to book skiing times.  Athlete training sessions are automatically reserved, and each athlete will receive a special tag they can keep on their jacket as proof.  Reservations are only automatic if you have provided us with your Glen Eden season pass number – please email the seven-digit alphanumeric code to raceadmin@miltonheights.com. The code is both on the pass card and in the confirmation email from your purchase.  This is important, if you do not do this your athlete’s training slot cannot be guaranteed.  All other friends and family must make their own reservations using Glen Eden’s system, and while it is not mandatory this year, it is the only sure way to guarantee yourself a spot (even for seasons pass holders).  Check Glen Eden’s website for details.

Still have questions? Here’s where to get more info

Almost everything is readily findable on our website.  In season schedule’s will be in TeamSnap, as will team-specific communications.  Please use your team managers as a liaison for questions, and use the team chat – chances are if you’re wondering, someone else is too.

Wishing you all laughter and joy for the holidays and throughout 2023.  And of course, tons of fresh powder for the whole ski season.
