Covid-19 Update – Special notice re. ordering club jackets

As you know, the safety of our members is our top priority and so we took the decision to defer our annual Banquet. Refunds will start being issued next week and our intent is still to re-book something for later-summer. We hope to see you all there to re-connect before our next season.

Another unexpected impact relates to ordering club jackets. With global supply chains somewhat disrupted, we have been asked to advance the deadline for ordering jackets to March 28. Please get your orders in ASAP using this link. Check our Gear page for more details. Our club jackets are both a great deal and a great way to build camaraderie among our athletes, giving them a sense of belonging and pride. Jackets are subsidized by our sponsors, so exact pricing is TBD based on sponsor commitments received (see below for a chance to refer new sponsors). We collect a 50% deposit on ordering and expect this year’s pricing to be roughly the same as past years, around $266 for junior sizes, $368 for adult and $144 for junior pants, $180 for adult pants (all prices plus HST).  Don’t miss out – order today! We have no ability to order more after this deadline.

What a season!                         Be sure to read our whole note for more important links below!

It certainly was an interesting season! Does anyone remember us ever being on snow in mid-November before?!  Usually our Tremblant camp (which was a ton of fun) is the first time on skis for most of us. And while Mother Nature might have helped us early, she sure did teach us a lesson during the middle part of the season – thank you to our members for being patient while we modified program activities and to our coaches for being flexible in offering make-up training days.

The season had too many great results to list here, it seemed like every week there were Podium, Top Ten and Top Team results to report on from across all our teams and age groups.  Congratulations and well done to all our athletes.  Most important of all was seeing the continuous stream of smiles on our athletes and improvements in their skiing abilities.

Every year we try to make the club better and better, and this year was no exception – with more noticeable changes like altering our Competitive Team programming to have more “away” training to more behind the scenes (yet equally important) like repairing our deck, our back stairs and making many improvements in our canteen – huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped with these things and so much more!

We are pleased to report that our membership is strong and growing. This year for the first time we had a table for early bird sales in Glen Eden’s Visitor Centre and we had our first “Open House” day – both were very successful. And we wrapped the year on a gloriously sunny day with a record-breaking turnout for our Erika Lamb Snowflake Race

What’s next?

Take advantage of early bird pricing – don’t wait, register today!  Special pricing ends on April 30.

Annual General Meeting – Mark your calendars for May 11, we will be back in touch soon with more details (and will be continuously monitoring in the event that Covid-19 necessitates any changes).

We need your help!

Refer friends and family – help us keep the club growing.  Forward them this email and use this link to Register.

Refer sponsors – help us keep our membership costs economical – if your employer or business would like to become a sponsor, please email sponsorship@miltonheights.com

Jump in to help – you can earn volunteer hours throughout the entire year, right now we’d love help with volunteer Task Forces for Social Media support, Marketing, Sponsorship, and planning this fall’s ski swap.  Email us at volunteer@miltonheights.com

While are saddened by the need to defer our Banquet due to recent events related to Covid-19, we firmly believe it was the best decision for the health and safety of our members. And we are looking forward to reconnecting with a party later this year!!  Until then, stay connected with us on Instagram and Facebook.

With best wishes for a healthy and happy summer,
