March 1 – U14 – Mansfield Ski Club – Final GS Race
Well what a finish!!! Under sunny blue skies, the U14’s headed back up to Mansfield for their last regular season race and boy did they show up. With 3 girls in the top 10, 4 boys in the top 10 and many more in the top 20, our MHRC racers finished first in team points. FIRST in team points!!! No small feat considering the strength of the teams we were up against. As with any single race, our team had some personal bests and we had some DNF’s, and thats just how racing goes. But when we look back at the season as a whole, I am really proud of what the team has accomplished and it has been a lot of fun to see each racers skiing improve. The racers trained hard week in and week out, but they did not do it alone. Thank you to all the parents for supporting the team both on and off the hill, in the canteen, during races and everything else in between. And most importantly, HUGE THANK YOU to our coaches Jeff, Brook, Chris and Jade. We were so lucky to have such a great team of knowledgeable and hardworking coaches. Thank you all for a great season!

March 1 – U12 – Chicopee Ski Club – Final Race
MHRC U12 athletes traveled to Chicopee Ski Club in Kitchener on Sunday for the final race of the season. The MHRC boys wrapped up the season by sweeping the podium with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes earning the top spot for club points and the top MHRC girls earned 1st and 2nd! The fresh snow created great conditions for slalom racing under a partly cloudy sky and warm temps.

Boys results: 1st Simon Begin, 2nd Sterling Ott, 3rd Neil Ghuman, 8th Sebastian Wistanley-Rose, 12th Marco Dosen, 20th Zach Ting
All racers took home a season full of proud achievements, memories and friendships for life.
