Being prepared for competition includes several considerations.
One area we will be spending more time on throughout this season is a focus on preparing athletes mentally and emotionally for competition. I am posting this article to kick-off the thought process. I recently read this blog post from Erin Mielzynski, member of Canada’s national alpine team and a top technical racer on the World Cup. She has written a lot about her mental and emotional struggles, self-doubt, etc. and documented her insights along her path to gain perspective and understanding. I encourage everyone to read this article and share it with your athlete. No doubt there are more who have a “Steve” whispering their ears!
