Events Calendar

A draft schedule has been posted on the AOA website; SOD/Snowboard Ontario SX schedule is included on the schedule. The SOD Cup schedule has yet to be formally posted, but a prospective schedule has been developed. We will have this posted on the MHRC website later this month. What can be shared is the U16 Race Fest will be run on the weekend of Feb 8/9 and U14 Race Fest will be run on the weekend of Feb 22/23;  format will be 1 run SL/1 run GS at the venues (TBD).

U19 Registration / Schedule

As we know all U19 registrations require the FIS license and the deadline is December 15th, thereafter late fees apply. U19 require to complete the FIS athlete declaration form and medical form.  Please send completed forms to Lisa Linhares  memberservices@alpineontario.ca and let our Race Admin, Juliette Lamb, know as well with a brief confirmation email.

After much discussion at this year’s AOA Spring Conference we’re pleased to announce that this season, in an effort to maintain robust U19 participation and help to sustain the social atmosphere within the senior racing groups at the club level, U19 FIS Provincial licensed athletes will participate with their U16 friends in the U16 SOD Cup (4 races) as a combined group with separate age category results. U19’s will also have opportunities to race in FIS races provincially and participation in SX events. The U19 Ontario Winter Games 2020 will take place at Mt St Louis Moonstone (MSLM) from Feb 25 – 28 (SL,SX,SG). This is really great news all around and bodes well for an engaging U19 season!

Officials

Anyone who took the Level 1  Officials training must register with AOA annually to maintain their certification ($25.00).  Officials must take an update every two (2) years.  New recruits taking a Level 1 course will be sent a coupon code after the course to register as an Official at no cost. Juliette Lamb is currently working with AOA to arrange training for MHRC members later this fall. It is incredibly important for the Club to have a pool of trained individuals at our races, it makes the whole ball of wax run so much easier. We’ll post training dates and sign-ups soon!!!
